John and Natalie’s Financial Transformation

John and Natalie's Financial Transformation 1

Meeting with John and Natalie for the first time it was easy for me to see how important their family was to them, but it had been a juggle along the way as small business owners. There had been times where as a couple they were confronted by cashflow issues and what staying in business or going bust could mean to their family.  Although things had been tight, John and Nat, made the decision to purchase their business premises which meant they had to take out a commercial loan and refinance their home.

When I met with them for the first time they were juggling the pressure of their business cashflow and meeting repayments for the new commercial loan, home loan plus business overdraft/credit card debt. There was no doubt this was having a major effect on their lifestyle & well-being. They had very little time for anything other than their business, and were concerned with the amount of debt they still had. John was also talking about his concerns about looming retirement and as small business owners that they were under prepared.

Does this sound like a situation you’ve seen before?

My priority was to get John and Natalie’s debt under control, improve their cashflow which would benefit their lifestyle and start working on their super and growing their investments.

We were able to restructure their financial position, eliminate their debt against the family home and commercial loan saving them around $3,938 per month in repayments (that’s $47,256 per year in savings). And that’s just the start of the transformation they have experienced.

Where are they now?

“We had been paying too much tax and juggling our finances for a very long time and that led to us not planning ahead.  For the first time we are on the road to becoming debt free and looking at creating an enjoyable lifestyle.  We’ve even established a savings plan for the whole family for our next holiday!”
